Working at Evans Cycles can be challenging sometimes: there are hundreds of products available at our shops and thousands virtually on our website – profound knowledge of bikes, clothes and accessories is crucial in order to provide our customers with the best possible service.
This was the reason we organised a three day staff show this week at the new Gravesend Cyclepark to help our colleagues at stores to learn more about the key products we sell. We invited key suppliers, like BMC, Jamis, Tern, Gore Bike Wear, Motorola, Louis Garneau, SRAM, Shimano, Mulebar and many more and asked them to talk about their products and services and help our staff to have a better understanding of their products.
However, it’s not all work, the short presentations are interspersed with demo riding session where they could ride the bikes, too. You can find a couple of photos below to see what they were up to today.

Rachael and John (background) from Customer Relations were present today, too. Understanding products better helps them too to solve customer issues.

An interesting innovation from Louis Garneau: the vest has hole in the back which provides trouble-free access to the back pockets whilst riding. A small but clever detail.

This is our suspension guru, Robin Walker's serious face. He runs our unique suspension servicing facility in Kendal where they can service almost any bike suspension.

Another legend, James Olsen, who always reminds me a mild mannered superhero in disguise, told the story behind the 2012 Pinnacle range.

Good to see all the Evans crew at the Bike Fest, and I made a point of listening to your CEO (Nick Wilkinson)’s inspirational words at the beginning of each of the three days, so almost thought I was dreaming when I woke up to hear his voice at 6.30 the morning after on the Today program!
I am sure Bike Fest was a success for Evans and certainly from my point of view I think it was very valuable to have the opportunity to talk directly to so many of your staff over the three days.
Well done all the staff that worked so hard to pull it together.
