We’re half-way in the challenge, some of us did well, some us struggling to find time to train – but there’s always the next week.

Get fit in 6 weeks

Nick Jenkins - Didn’t do as much as I should have done. Two road rides; the first 30 miles and the second only 15mile, but cut short due to heavy rain and maybe a bit of laziness. Was out on the DH bike for 5 hours on Sunday, but that’s about it. Must increase the road miles this week, but finding it hard to motivated.

Get fit in 6 weeks - week 3

Neil Fitton - This get fit in 6 weeks project is turning into a nightmare !!... the way I am going its going to take me 60 !! I remember when I was in my 20's and raced I was always out riding and seemed nothing got in the way, but at the moment I cant even find the time to ride to work so the secret is to find that balance. Week 3 was made up of 30miles of commuting and a 3hr MTB ride in the Surrey hills and the weekend was again taken up with working at the Sky Ride in Bath......lets hope I can pull it all out the back in the next 3 weeks!

Get fit in 6 weeks - week 3

Michael Tomsett - Slightly more back on track this week. Although my rides have been marred by punctures galore. 7 in 7 rides is not a good thing! Luckily they’ve all been towards the end of my rides so I haven’t had to change them by the roadside. The biggest blow this week came on my weekend ride, 17 miles in, after tackling a particularly nasty hill; my calf muscle decided that it was going to lock up! I decided to cut my ride short, but the last 3 miles back home quite painful. Let’s hope that it gets better soon.

Get fit in 6 weeks - week 3

Balint Hamvas - I clocked in some serious mileage last week. It started with to rides to work, 26 miles each. Then came the trip to Chatel, where I was riding 2011 Trek bikes for two days. It was a lot of fun and I got to ride a wide variety of bikes. My longest ride was a 50km ride from Chatel to Champery and back, with 970m elevation. My best week so far, however, it utterly exhausted me (the added travelling might be also be a contributing factor), so I have to take it easy on week 4.
