Now then blog readers, what a year it has been! Ups and downs certainly, but mainly ups…

Evans Cycles reached the grand old age of 90 years, so we had a load of fun going back in time to uncover the rich history, and Bert even built a bike to celebrate!

Early in the year, Balint went undercover in the murky world of bike crime, and unravelled the history of one of our bestselling bikes. Head mechanic Jules became a mini Youtube sensation with his popular How to series, and our Super Sportiver James Berresford rode many miles in search of Sportive heaven.

The pace then picked up later in the year. No sooner had our new boss started, we launched a shiny new website, then found ourselves in the midst of the riots across the UK, thanking our neighbours for helping us to clear up the damage.  The store and workshop teams soldiered on, picking up industry awards, while the website faired well with online shoppers in a Which survey. Not to be outdone our contact centre started their helpful lunchtime Q&A sessions with some interesting questions over on Facebook. We even sneaked in one of those new mobile websites that are popping up all over the place.

But after the rollercoaster that was 2011, really there is only thing we’d like to say – and that is a simple THANK YOU to all our customers, old and new, for sticking us with us through good times and tough times, and for your much appreciated custom.

We wish you a very Happy Christmas and a prosperous New Year, and we look forward to serving you in 2012!
