We’ve been working hard over the last few months to make evanscycles.com a better shopping experience. We know from talking to lots of you that a website like ours needs to basically do two things: 1) support a quick purchase like an inner tube or energy product, and 2) help you research products better, like that lovely new bike you have been eyeing up.
So we’ve made some quite big changes, here is a little film with my colleague Nick explaining them:
MAIN NAVIGATION
This has been recategorised to help you find products quicker, by hovering over the categories.
COMPARE
To make researching products easier, you can now compare up to 4 products side by side by clicking the compare tick box above each product. You can also drill down even further for detailed specs. This is handy if you want to compare bike specs, or perhaps print out and take in store for reference when shopping.
FILTERING
You can now filter products in many ways, so you can shop by price, brand, or even the number of gears or frame material!
FEEDBACK
Whilst these are the biggest changes, more features are on their way, including a short list functionality so you can easily save and research products you are considering. And of course we would love to know what you think about the new site. You can do this quickly and easily by clicking on the red tab in the bottom right hand corner of your screen. Please tell us what you think!

Nice try guys, sadly the comments page doesn’t work in Chrome for starters. You fill in a comment, click send, button changes to submit and moves to a layer behind the phone numbers so you can’t click it.
Main problem though is finding products that I was looking at only a couple of days back. A good example is the Specialized Tricross bikes, they’ve simply vanished. They don’t appear under Specialized, not under Cyclocross, and not under search. Searching is rather questionable anyhow, as it finds no end of whacky stuff with anything with the word cross in, but not much else.
Site looks as though it could be good when it works, sadly seems to be having a few issues currently. Fingers crossed you can get it sorted soon
Hi Allan, thanks for the feedback. We are fixing the comments issue in Chrome and the search (do remember you can refine your searches using the links and filters on the left). For the Tricross bikes, the site only displays items that are avaliable, so it may be that they are now no longer avaliable. I will check on that for you.
best regards, Will
New look is great, really like it. Only drawback so far, though, is that there is no indication of how many people have star-rated a product in the product list. This was a great way of identifying popular and well-thought-of products.
Otherwise, it’s nice to see a website redone in a way that is a genuine improvement. Great work.
Thanks Will, good call, we’ll check to see if that is possible.
