Guest post by James “Rooster” Tresman, BMX rider and Evans Cycles NCC staff member.
Evans Cycles backed BMX race team Love Not Money – RSD Sports took home some great results from the recent second round of the British BMX Series at the National Indoor BMX Centre in Manchester.
Record numbers of riders signed up to compete at the world class facility, which once again hosted a Supercross race on Saturday night which was won by Team GB’s Liam Phillips to the delight of the crowd.
Love Not Money riders competed in 19 race classes over the weekend and took 9 A Final places with 3 podiums and 6 B Final places with 4 podiums and 3 wins!
NCC Store staff and LNM team riders Josh Nicholas and Joe Davenport were in the thick of the action, with Josh unlucky not to make the quarter finals in the largest class of the weekend, 17-24 (a massive 55 riders) Joe narrowly missed a place in the A Final but his excellent riding secured him qualification for the 2012 World Championships!
The NCC Store served as a team pit before the event with the fleet of Redline race BMXs tuned to perfection by Josh and Workshop Manager Adam Bonser. The store itself did a brisk trade in BMX race products, from the O’Neal clothing range (as worn by Love Not Money riders) to essentials such as race tyres, inner tubes and a selection of parts from Shimano’s DXR race groupset.
The next round of the Series is the 24th of March, also in Manchester
