This month’s customer review was written by nzmike on the Shimano AM45 2011 All Mountain SPD Shoe, and as usual, he is entitled to the £250 voucher.

Had these for a couple of weeks now. I ride mostly x-country and light freeriding, these do the job well. Really comfy fit, with a roomy toe box but still nice and tight around the rest of the foot. I like the inner ankle protection, no more bruises! I’m normally a 44 but after reading reviews of other shimano shoe sizings I decided to order a 45 which fit perfectly.
Using with Time Atac allium pedals. I,ve heard of other people having to cut bits out of the sole to make them work but I had no problem. The soles are a good stiffness, not as stiff as a carbon race shoe, but thats not what there designed for. found them good to walk in too, with the recess in the sole keeping the cleats out of the way. been out in the mud and wet a few times, feet stayed dry and when i get home just give em a wipe with a rag and there as good as new!
Only grumble I have is with the rubber use in the sole isnt that grippy when not clipped in or on wet rocks and stuff. being an ‘all mountain’ shoe I would have liked a bit more grip.
overall very happy with my purchase, get a pair, you wont regret it! Great service by Evans too :)
