We’re delighted to announce that we will be hosting some in-store events specifically for female customers following feedback we received from customers at our focus groups.
Taking place in Manchester, London and Cardiff, our events will all feature five expert speakers, including women’s cycling apparel designer and cyclist of all disciplines, Anna Glowinski.
The nights were an idea brought up by real female customers, they’ve been organised by our female staff. and we absolutely can’t wait to get them on the road.
What could you get from the evening?
One for the Girls will be an evening of short demonstrations from experts, and there will be drinks and nibbles as well as goody bags, discounts and time to browse plenty of extra stock that is usually only available online. Lydia (online merchandising) and Michelle (marketing) both know it’s nice to try clothing on before you buy it – so we hope that ladies will be excited by the chance to check out our fantastic range in the flesh.
After an introduction from Anna, an Evans Cycles staff member trained by the bike fit gurus at Specialized will talk you through the art getting the perfect fit, and adapting your bike
for comfort or efficiency.
Next up, a mechanic will discuss the basic skills of maintenance. We don’t want to go too complicated for those who are just starting out - hence we’ll start with the basics - but we know some of you really know your stuff and for you there will be an opportunity to win £100 for the fastest inner tube change.
A nutrition expert from High5 will lead you through what to eat before, during and after exercise, to keep you going strong and an industry expert will discuss how to get clothing right for your ride and the weather.
After this, Anna will answer questions from the audience. She’s been racing bikes since she was 5 years old, but knows all about what it’s like to ride for leisure, too – she rides bikes with knobbly tyres, as well as speedy road slicks – so she’s a great person to direct your questions to, whatever sort of cycling you do or want to do.
When and where will they be?
Manchester Chill Factore, Tuesday 25th June, 6-8pm
London Mortimer, Thursday 27th June, 6-8pm
Cardiff, Tuesday, Wednesday 3rd July, 6-8pm
How do I get involved?
It’s strongly suggested that you sign up before the event here. Everyone who signs up will get a promotion code emailed to them the day before the event which can be redeemed on the night and the first 150 women to sign up will also get a free goodybag. We look forward to seeing you!
