From Brighton to Edinburgh in three days, the 2014 #HOYTour has been a whistlestop run of the country.
With seven rides, and two evening events, Sir Chris and the team have had the opportunity to meet hundreds of fans, HOY bike owners and all-round avid cyclists.
Here are the highlights from a wonderful final day in Glasgow and Edinburgh…
The day began, as every other #HOYTour day so far, with grey clouds hanging low in the sky. Thankfully, however, unlike the events in Brighton, London and Liverpool, there were no actual raindrops falling from the sky…
A few earlybirds arrived well ahead of schedule for some warm up laps on the outdoor Velodrome at Bellahouston Park:
And not long after, it was time for Le Grand Depart:
Throughout the ride, Sir Chris circulated like a pro, making conversation with as many riders as possible:
For many, this was the best morning of school ever:
After the velodrome ride, Sir Chris led the way through the park for a final lap:
Bikes safely stowed away, there was plenty of time for meeting and greeting:
And Sir Chris took some time out to sign an assortment of items:
Once the bikes and vans were packed up, the team headed off to Edinburgh Grassmarket to set up a test track for little ones to try out the HOY kids bikes:
And who could ever ask for a better teacher?
Once again, there were yet more opportunities to take away a special signed piece of memorabilia:
And for everyone to catch their own memory through the lens:
The test track dismantled, our team made a journey to the Edinburgh Castle, where the Pearl Izumi Tour organisers were setting up for an evening of pro and domestic racing.
Before all that started, 50 competition winners had a chance to ride the circuit with Sir Chris:
Following the leader, they all enjoyed their moment on the closed road circuit:
Especially the short challenging cobbled section:
We spotted this little guy nailing all of the climbs, and he even managed to sneak in an extra couple of laps where he could:
It’s been an amazing week, and we’ve enjoyed meeting cyclists of every kind across the country.
