Last month we took it off-road with 8 lucky customers who all won the chance to test out the new range of Norco Mountain bikes, accompanied by expert MTB coaches in the Afan forest.

The lucky riders were the victors of our #ILoveMyNorco competition, having sent in pictures of rides on their own trusty Norco steeds.

We know that Norco bikes are trail conquerors that deserve to be shouted about, so we hosted the comp to share the love and give the 8 winner the opportunity to thrash them the way they are meant to be ridden on some amazing trails.

Norco are not yet a household name in the UK but they are well known to the hardcore trail riders as manufacturers of top quality trail bikes. Consistently winning awards for their innovative design the bikes are made to take on the toughest conditions. But we thought we better put them through their paces, just to make sure..

The weekend of riding was spent in the Afan Forest and on the Glyncorryg trails, and the winners were chaperoned by Matt and Sam, from Pedal Progression, a company who lead guided rides and offer technical skills training.

Along for the ride were Dustan Sept, from the comms team at Norco bikes, and journalists from Shortlist and MBUK who relished the opportunity to get out and test ride the fleet.

The two days of riding were hard and fast, but recovery over Saturday evening was aided by a comfortable stay at L&A Ourdoors Centre. The log cabins there made for a perfect cosy setting, and Saturday evening was spent relaxing at the bar, with the hungry riders tucking into a hog roast beside the fire.

To complete the entertainment, center manager Nigel Finkel gave giving an absolutely bombastic version of ‘Whiskey in the Jar’ by Thin Lizzy and Evans Cycles’ own Philip Conway lulled everyone into a blissful sleepy coma with his own acoustic take on ‘Ice Ice Baby’ by Vanilla Ice.
