Let us proudly introduce you to the world of Louis Garneau! You may not have heard of this cycling brand here in the UK, but you soon will!

For over 25 years they have been developing a range of technical apparel. You know that padded insert in your cycling shorts? Patented by Louis Garneau. Most famous recently for their Vorttice helmet (voted No.1 aero helmet at the Kona Iron man championships!) and recent sponsorship of current Iron man champion Chrissie Wellington, you can check the range here.

The  triathlon products will be in selected stores at the beginning in April, and more cycling products to follow by September 2011.

Our clothing buyer Paul recently took a trip out to visit their offices, and found out just how much work goes into developing and refining superior cycling gear!

How it all started - Louis Garneau's bike from the Los Angeles Olympics

Laser cut patterns - manufactured in Canada

In the testing lab, this is the abrasion tester

This drops huge weights on helmets to test strength!

The Vortice helmet – the dimples improve air flow

If you work at Louis Garneau, you get a spin class every day led by Louis himself – cool!

This is their (top secret!) prototype area – very rare in manufacturing these days and shows how committed they are to making sure products peform.
