Enjoy staff rider Eric Purres’ latest update.
I have been working on couple new projects for 2013 and training/ racing with my Norco Aurum 1. I am pretty much fulfilled most of my goals this season- finishing in solid spots at World Cups and being top 10 at every local race I can say I’m ready for upcoming World Championships in Leogang, Austria.
Last week I flew back to Estonia where I’m from to compete National Championships and qualify for Worlds. Race track was pretty fast and loose, rooty and rocky which is pretty rare as Estonia is pretty flat all-around. But dispite from that I did like track a lot and my practise went quite well.
At race day weather was nice and track was pretty dry and ran really well on morning practise so I went into my race run with pretty much confidence in me which is always good as stressing out at start gate is never a good thing. While waiting the women and junior categories go down I tried to keep my cool until it was time to start doing warm-up and get down to business.
My race run was pretty much perfect and I knew I gave 100% so I was pretty happy about it. As track was short (around 1minute 30sec.) times where super close and as I was one of the first elite mens to come down it looked my time will hold until last 2 riders came down. Though coming 3rd in the end- I’m still pretty happy about my result as time what I lost to second place was +0.22sec and being on the podium was good feeling as race was fair for everyone.
After that weekend Estonian cycling federation held a meeting about upcoming World Championships and I got choosen to represent country in Downhill and 4x category which I’m really happy about.
Now being back in UK and getting everything dialed for Worlds I’m even more stoked to see that NORCO has released their 2013 lineup for public and ready for pre-order as NORCO 2013 bikes are epic- everything is well designed and there are even more models available in UK for next season like- new 650B Killer B range and extremelly fast Norco Tactic Carbon road bike.
Riding Norco is like being a kid again having fun and enjoying every second with friends on nice singletracks going downhill or racing your mates to the top of the hill on a roadbike.
