Last week, we published our very first #EvansEarlybird playlist - an album compiled from Evans Cycles colleagues favourite cycling related songs, and songs that just made them want to ride.

We didn’t want to hog the microphone, so last week we asked you guys to send us your favourite riding songs. With 92k + Facebook fans, and around 20k Twitter followers, we knew we’d get a great varied list and we couldn’t add them ALL – but hopefully, there is something for everybody.

These are tracks compiled to create a great turbo workout, if you’re training in preparation for some specific summer races or events, or songs to get you ready ride in the morning – we haven’t designed this for listening to on the bike whilst riding outside, though some headphones do allow you to do this safely.

About the playlist

Spring is well and truly sprung, and we kicked off the list with some happy summery songs to get you in the mood for the warm months that are just beginning.

There are some lovely mellow openers in here, with tunes such as “Happy” by Pharell Williams, “Roll With It” by Oasis and Kid Rock’s jaunty “All Summer Long” to have you dreaming of picnics by bike.

We couldn’t miss out the pumping motivational tracks, and for those after a good strong beat, we added in a bit of My Chemical Romance, with “Sing”, Hell is for Heroes “I can climb mountains” and some Prodigy with “Omen” - so if you’re heading of on a training camp, or cramming in the climbing at home, these tunes will get you pedalling a strong cadence up the hills.

A few more motivational tunes we had submitted included Iron Maiden’s “Run to the Hills”, “Ace of Spades” by Motorhead and the infamous Rocky tune “Eye of the tiger” by Survivor.

Some of us like to smash out the miles to some aggressive beats, so we added in a little Linkin Punk with “Numb”, Rage against the Machine’s “Regenades of Funk” and “Not Afraid” by Eminem to get you thrashing it on the flat.

Finally, we got the chilled out vibes back with some Kate Bush and “Running up that hill”, followed by “Not Giving In” by Rudimental and “Pumped up Kicks” by Foster the Peoples.

Finally, we finished it all of with the much requested “Bike Song” by Pink Floyd…

Got a tune to add?

We’re creating a new playlist every week, until the middle of March. Want your song on the next playlist? Tweet is @evanscycles with your song, and #EvansEarlybird, or post on our Facebook wall.
