Hello.
Spent the day putting out the long loop of this weekends Sportive ride. It’s very fast and not too hilly ( totally the opposite of last weekends Peaks ride!!) and great cycling weather. Lets hope it holds up for the weekend………
Post Code.
The post code on our website is wrong, the correct one being AL9 7BN
Please note.
These events are NOT RACES. The roads and trails are still being used by the general public, please treat them with respect as you would if you were out on your own. You are also, as stated in our T&Cs, responsible for your own actions.
Right, the bit you all want, here’s the GPX files:-
Problems with your Garmin?
See you there.

is it possible to see a non gpx (eg pdf) view of the routes?
Hi Tony.
You are able to view GPX files on google earth.
I don’t have the maps fully produced yet so won’t be able to get them up I’m afraid.
Thanks
Dean
Wish you were running the Medium MTB route the other way round. Essendon Hill going down to the river is boring waste of height. Whilst Bucks Alley downhill is a real test of courage (across the bridges) and the chicane down to Bedwell Ave is awesome flat out with a good runoff at the bottom for anyone missing the braking point. Shame to miss Wormley Woods out as well.
Maybe next year eh ?
To Tony
Create a “map my ride” account ( it free )and it will upload GPX for you. Switch the MAP option to what ever you want. Then Print
Hi Sam.
I did look at running this the other way round this year but it leaves the biggest climb of the day until last, which is never good. Perhaps next year.
There are no public rights of way in Wormley Woods hence it’s abscence. Unless you know if they have put some new ones in?

Hi Dean

You are so right about ending with the Hill & I didn’t mean to sound critical . You’ve found some real challenges in here in Herts. (all my Legal favorites are in
Re. Wormley
There is now a bridlepath through roughly north south

Its well worth a visit if you ever get a some time off (Ancient Wood with loads of erosion gullys and much steeper than Broxbourne)
P.S if anyone else is reading this.. Please be a little wary on the two small hills at around 3.5 miles tomorrow. The new sandy surface, the council put down, has washed away leaving loads of fist sized large flints
Its forecast rain all day sigh , wish i hadent paid online.
Hi,
Really looking forward to the ride tomorrow, but having problems uploading the gpx file to my Garmin. I create/add courses all the time, but for some reason the Evans ones never work for me. When I try to upload into Trailzilla it gives me an “Invalid File” error. When I follow the steps given in the Garmin Instructions (i.e. drag the file into my Garmin > New Courses folder) it doesn’t create a Course.
Is there a route saved on somewhere like BikeRouteToaster or a file that is compatible with Garmin Training Centre?
Thanks,
Emily
Hi Sam.
Cheers, will have a look at this for next years route.
Emily.
You can run these files through Bikeroutetoaster.com if you want to – it’s something we do suggest if you can’t get them to load.
Paulf
Atleast you didn’t pay £25 for the ride

Hi,
When will this years ride routes be posted or will it follow the same route?
Thanks,
John
Hi John.
I haven’t looked at them yet, but I will try and change them if possible.
They will be sent to pre- registered riders next Thursday.
