Our RideIt! events have been having a rocking record year – with thousands of riders joining us for events almost every weekend.

We’ve got tons more routes planned throughout the year, and with fantastic entry figures already for these upcoming rides, we’re stepping up our service to make them even better.

Over the rest of the year, we will be offering Louis Garenau clothing hire at selected off-road and sportive rides, and we’ll also have a range of kit available to buy on the day.

We don’t want anything to dampen your day in the saddle – and what better way to do that than offering a wide range of quality products for you to ride in. Forgot your socks? The weather looks like it’s taking an unexpected turn? Your helmet has seen better days? We’ll have you covered in style.

We’ve been working exclusively with Louis Garneau since 2011. The brand has decked out our store colleagues in their fantastic jerseys, and from now on our RideIt! team will be wearing  full Louis Garneau kit, too.

There will be a selection of demo garments available for you to take out on your bike at selected events as well as a larger range of kit and accessories for sale.

This is a chance for the uninitiated to try out the sizing, fit and intuitive design of the Louis Garneau range, and for those in the know you’ll be able to pick up those necessary extras from a brand you love.

Demo clothing that can be hired for an event is limited, so you’ll need to arrive early to borrow it.

Kit available to hire:

Louis Garneau Evans Waterproof Jacket &  Louis Garneau Women’s Waterproof Jacket louis-garneau-evans-waterproof-jacket The LG Evans Jacket has been adapted especially for Evans Cycles, from the Course Rain Jacket, with a more relaxed fit and an added rear pocket. The jacket uses lightweight, breathable 2.5 ply fabric with 4-way stretch for flexibility and comfort on the bike. A lightweight layer, this can be packed into its pouch and carried in a jersey pocket, making it a perfect companion for a day when rain is on the cards, but likely to be interspersed with drier spells. Louis Garneau Evans Short Sleeved Jersey louis-garneau-evans-short-sleeve-jersey This jersey uses Pro Cool fabric plus CoolPlus fiber to transfer moisture away from the skin, resulting in a comfortable ride. Simple styling in bright colours makes for a great look that’s flattering and visible. Louis Garneau Lemmon Vent Short Sleeved Jersey louis-garneau-lemmon-vent-short-sleeve-jersey The Lemmon jersey provides a light, breathable fit, coupled with factor 50 UPF/SPF protection, alongside a full length zip for maximum ventilation on hot days. Silicone grippers on the hem, 3 pockets, including a multimedia pocket, and Enviro pocket for empty gel pouches all come together to create a jersey that keeps convenience and comfort front of mind. Louis Garneau Transit Short Sleeved Jersey louis-garneau-transit-short-sleeve-jersey The transit is another simply styled offering from Louis Garneau, which provides a semi-pro fit with light fabric and good moisture wicking, breathability and sun protection. This jersey comes with 3 angled back pockets for ease of reach, and a multimedia pocket to keep a phone or other device safe. Louis Garneau HTO Short Sleeved Jersey louis-garneau-hto-tee For riders who want a more relaxed looking t-shirt, as opposed to a traditional jersey, the HTO offers a fantastic alternative, with great moisture management, fast drying material, and UPF/SPF 50 sun protection. Treated with LG’s IceFit, a treatment which absorbs body heat and turns sweat into a cooling substance, the HTO is ideal for riding on hot days. Louis Garneau Nova Vest louis-garneau-nova-vest A vest, or gilet, is a lightweight layer which is perfect for keeping the wind off your chest on a blustery day, without allowing you to overheat. The Nova uses Light Mesh Air Dry fabric to keep you cool, and has 2 rear pockets, as well as reflective features for visibility.

Looking to buy cycling clothing on the day?

If you forget a vital piece of kit, or simply want to enjoy a little pre or post-ride retail therapy, we’ll also have selected shoes, helmets, socks, mitts, arm and leg warmers available to buy.

Which events will have hire available?

Hire won’t be available at every event, but we will let you know in the pre-event email if we’ll have clothing on the day. If we do, you’ll just need to fill in a form when you get to the event HQ, before heading off in your demo kit.

All kit will be washed before and after events, so no need to worry about leaving your scent on the fabric, or the odd mark, but do try to be careful not to damage anything you borrow.
