Update Friday 22/2
The boys are back from putting out the MTB route – ground conditions are pretty good apparently. There is some mud but small sections rather than the entire route.

Hi All.
A cold day in the saddle!! We have a new, full time member of staff ( Hurrah!!) Mike, and both of us went out and rode the long loop. It‘s a great loop with some good climbs and finishes with a 5mile descent! The roads are not in great condition in places so please keep and eye out for potholes. If someone is behind you please shout a warning
There has been talk of snow………at the moment all is going ahead but we do pre-drive in the morning so I have the chance to change sections, close loops or cancel the event. I will post up on here around about 7am with any news so check before setting off.
On to the nitty gritty.
PLEASE BRING YOUR HELMET TO REGISTRATION. You will not be able to register without it and you’ll have to go back to your car to retrieve it.
PARKING
There is parking on site but not enough for all of you. Once this is full we have overflow parking in Harewood house ( don’t go there first as the gate will be locked) We will put up signs and marshals to direct you there but basically it’straight across the traffic lights, under the arch and turn right.
Registration
This is in the sports hall, follow signs to registration. There are loos and showers there ( hopefully they will be warm – I have asked….)
MTB
I won’t know what it’s like until tomorrow but it’s likely to be MUDDY so I’d prep your bike with some knobblies.
It’s not a race!
Please give way to other trail users, walkers, horse riders etc. If you come across a Horse, please let the rider know you are there in plenty of time and follow their instructions. Remember, if you spook the horse it might hurt you or other people and you are responsible for you actions and the consequences!!
SPORTIVE
The roads are in winter conditions. I saw the odd pothole today but nothing particularly bad. I’d make sure you have a way to repair at least two punctures with you. We will come to your aid but it might take us a while depending upon where the vans are, much better to be prepared.
All the routes go to the first drink station at 15miles. The Short splits off left just after and the medium and Long head for the hills. The Long splits off at the second drink station and does a complete loop back tothe same drink station. PLEASE DO NOT FOLLOW THE SPLIT SIGNS A SECOND TIME. It’s a long loop to do twice!!
Long loop is closed at 1pm as it’s 30miles in – last start time is 9.45am
Distances are approx.
Short -28miles
Medium -50miles
Long -75miles
Drink stations are approximately at:-
Short, medium,long – 15miles
Medium,long – 30miles
Long – 55 miles
This is not a race!!
Please obey the highway code, stop at junctions and only ride two abreast where it is safe to do so – not on main roads or winding country lanes where cars travelling at speed will not be able to see you and stop!!!! If you cause and accident, you are responsible for the consequences and any costs.
Maps
These are for info only and are not downloadable, you will get a hard copy at registration.
GPX files
Everyone who has pre-entered will have received a pre-event mail that has links to the GPX files and a guide to show you have to view them interactively. If you have not received this by 7pm tonight please check you junk folder, old accounts, your partners email if they booked and make sure you check the address you booked with! These are all common causes for not getting the mail. If you still don’t have them then email me on dean.stacey@evanscycles.com I’ll check your entry and send you a copy.
See you all there!
Dean
Hi All.
Hi all.
This is the place to come for all the last minute details for the Leeds Ride It this weekend.
Firstly – the Sportive is sold out, there are no on the day places and there is no reserve list. Please do not turn up without an entry as the event centre can’t take any more riders.
As per usual, GPX files will be sent out to pre-registered riders on THURSDAY NIGHT. This is so that we ensure the routes we give you are the correct ones.
I will post up more updates as the week progresses.

Dean,
Are you able to upload the MTB routes?
Where can I find the photos for the Harewood MTB Ride IT?
All linked up above
Can I just what a well organised event! I would like to give a big shout out to my saviour “Tony O” who gave me a master class on how to repair a knackered rear mech. I would recommend any Evan event!!.
Great event Saturday for the MTB ride, big thanks to the guy with the dodgy hip who saved my bacon 6 miles from the finish by donating a chain link to me and helping me fix it. Your a top man and a gentleman, thanks Dave
Firstly i echo the sentiments above, A very well organised event and i will certainly be attending more in the future.
I would be interested to know just how many cyclists took to roads on Sunday
Hi Dean
Thanks.
We had about 440 on the road.

Good event Evans, thanks! Bit sticky and not particularly technical but fun. I have to say that having done a few events from time to time its great when organisers take the time and effort to actually organise a good long loop instead of taking the easy option of a short course on mainly fire roads for people to get bored riding in circles on.
Bargain for an organised ride and great PR exercise. More events like this in Yorkshire please!
Would have been easier to find, and could have started 30 mins earlier if the postcode wasn’t 15 minutes away from the school, why was the wrong postcode shown? Apart from that, really enjoyed the ride
Hi Dez.
Sorry for the late reply, just wanted to check the postcaode we put up. It was LS17 9LE which is from the Gateways School website and if you put this in Google it shows the school, so we did post up the correct Postcode. Perhaps you misstyped it?
Goods to hear you enjoyed the ride.
