GPX files.

Some of you have not recieved the GPX files, I’ve sent some but time is short so here they are for everyone.

Hi All.

We’ve been out putting up the Sportive course in the changing weather ( Sun, rain, hail!!) The course is basically the same as last year but with a whole new Long route which I got to put out. It’s got lots of long straights without too many junctions so you can keep up a nice, constant average speed.

As above – There are NO ON-THE-DAY entries for the Sportive on Sunday. This is due to there being too many of you and we are having trouble finding somewhere for you all to park! The MTB ride on Saturday is not effected and is open as usual.

This is going to be the issue this weekend. Once we have filled the event centre then we have some overflow parking at Red Bull F1 ( have a sneaky look through their window and you can see their trophies and a car ) once this is full then please park where you can but please make it legal and considerate. There will be marshals guiding you to to the correct sites so please follow their instructions. Once the event site is full we will be stopping you from turning into the drive so please follow the marshalls instructions and frantic pointing so that we can keep the road as free as possible. (Please remember to bring your helmet to registration)

Please bring your helmet to registration as you will need to show it to the guys at sign on.

GPX files have now been sent to all Pre-entries that have supplied an email address. They will also be available to download from our computers on the day. Some tips fro you – if you wish to see the route then save the file to your computer and then go to ( click on “course creator” then “courses” then upload and browse to the saved file, upload) If you have a Garmin unit then save the files to to the “New files” folder.

These rides are not races. Please follow the highway/countryside code. Give way to other road/trail users and be polite. Roadies, do not ride two abreast where it is not safe to do so and keep your speed down and bike under control into blind corners. MTB riders, there are a lot of HORSE RIDERS in the area. Please slow down and STOP when you meet a horse, follow the instructions of the rider. Remember, you have complete (ish) control of your bike, they won’t have control of a spooked tonne of  horse which can injure you/them/the horse. Think of it this way, you pass the horse once, they get passed 400 times. YOU are responsible for your actions and their concequences, if you cause and accident then you are liable for the costs.

It looks like we have another sell out this weekend and will not be accepting any on the day entries for the Sunday road sportive. If you do want to ride on Sunday the on line entry for the last few places will stay open until later today so that’s your last chance to get in.

We do still have spaces available for the MTB ride and we will be accepting on the day entries on saturday for the mountain bike ride.

Our last 3 road sportives have now sold out so if you’re looking to ride with us at any of our events later in the year it’s worth pre entering early to ensure you secure  a place.
