Some Pics.
I popped out on Saturday and got a few pics of some of the MTB riders. They can be found here:-
This is all I took, so if you aren’t there, sorry.
They are free to down load but if you want large sized files, mail me on dean.stacey@evanscycles.com and I’ll send them through.

We got a great review from one rider, Bob, who wrote:

Ready to ride - Bob has reviewed his experience
“I’ve ridden a number of Evans RideIt events before, but never the Milton Keynes sportive, so was keen to accept when a colleague asked if I fancied taking part. Despite a miserable forecast, the weather was actually pretty good; cold but sunny and no rain. The windy conditions did take their toll on some riders, and despite only scoring a 2 on the climbing guide, it really did feel more.
Registration was lightning quick and within minutes I had my timing chip affixed and was at the start for a cheery briefing. Moments later, we were underway; released in small groups to minimise delays and The ride itself was simply superb. The signing excellent, the course well thought-out and the feed stations well equipped. With so many smiling faces – both from the Evans staff and other riders – it was just a joy to ride.
With food, drinks and a warm club-hut to shelter in after the ride, every box was ticked. In short, a great ride, a friendly atmosphere and everything included for £12.50! What’s not to like about that? If you’ve never taken part before, you really are missing out. I’ll see you on the next event.”
Sportive times now updated, sorry about the earlier issue.

methinks there’s a problem with your Sunday times… If you set off at 8:55 and finish at 14:10 the total time isn’t 5hrs 40mins. Appears to be across the board. sorry..
For the road sportive times, why doesn’t the total time match the difference between start and finish times?
Sunday Road Sportive Rider Times – Link not working
Sportive times have now been updated, sorry about the earlier issue, all times were being calculated from the first start time of 08:30 rather than you’re actual start time.
Hi, this was my first try at 90 miles and I was so pleased I completed it. Really enjoyed the route.
My only gripe is the toilets. There were not enough mens cubicles, one of the toilets refused to flush (yuck) and not enough toilet roll.
Hi Noel
The toilets were a small issue at the weekend. We only get in on Friday night and it was then that we found out there was one ladies loo out of action, leaving them only one cubicle. We allocated the disabled loo as a second ladies and opened up the side toilet for the men. When this became overwhemed, we re-opened the disabled to men again. So you can see, it was a bit of a juggling act!
Toilet rolls. This always confounds me!! We always have a stock of spare loo rolls incase the ones supplied by the venue run out. At this event we left 18 of them on the table outside the loos ( so they don’t get wet, part used etc. and can be taken to the next event) and most of them were used. The problem is that we are running around doing all the other event things and don’t have time to keep checking for loo roll levels! If they run out or you find there are none in there, why do people not mention this to staff? If I found there were no loo rolls or used the last piece, I’d mention it to the organisers so that others are not in the same position.
Cheers

English people just don’t like asking for toilet roll. Don’t ask me why – they just don’t.
Hi! Results welcome, but a bit dissapointed they are not sorted into Fun/Short/Medium/Long, and alphabetically. Makes it significantly more work to compare your results. Also, would have welcomed avergae speed calculated, which were in earlier ride result postings I think. Got my name wrong too!
Welll done for organising, on a cold and windy morning.
Hi Pete,
Thanks for the feedback on the results. Our events aren’t competitive and we try and make sure riders don’t treat them as races. We’ve purposely not made it easy to compare times as that seems to encourage some people to treat them as competitive.
Not only would it invalidate our insurance if we’re in anyway seen to be encouraging riders to race it would also be illegal as the events take place on public highways.
It’s also pretty irrelevant comparing times as whilst some will try and get round as quickly as possible others are just out for a cruise around with friends wso aren’t trying to set a fast time.
Sorry about the spelling of your name, if you let me know what number you are I can correct that.
Mark
I see & agree with your point. There’s absolutely no point in comparing times in a none race event.
thanks for a great day. only missed one direction sign! and only about 3 miles from the end but only by about 500 yards. Easy to follow and not too demanding exept for the last hill, isn’t that always the way!!!
This was my first ride and am looking forward to another. glad it wasn’t a race but instinct shows out there. nice to overtake others.
Happy with my time and not really interested in others as I was more interested in my own day. well organised and thanks for the cake at the feeding stations – lovely!
