I’ve been out today checking out a route for a new Sportive event in the Pennines. At the moment we hold a King of the Downs event in May on the North Downs. This is basically a hard, 10 hill, 115mile route consisting of two loops of about 57 miles. The new event will be called the King of the Pennines ( Surprisingly) and will be the same format of two loops, each about 50miles, with some significant hills. The event centre will be in Skipton and the date will be the 4th of September, more details will be coming soon…….

You ride up the side of Malham Cove.

Some lovely riding in the valleys

At the top there’s some great views, when it’s not misty…..

With the ups, come the downs. If you squint to the left you can see the road at the bottom. I hit a tad over 44mph down here in the wind!

There’s loads of pretty little villages and quite a high proprtion of pubs on route as well.

SO keep an eye on the blog over the next few weeks and we’ll officially announce this event.
