Hi all.

We’ve been putting out the road routes in the sun today and have our fingers crossed for the weekend!! Below is some important information, please read it to make your day go easier.

Firstly, just a reminder that the BOTH days are sold out – please do not come to the event hoping for cancelations, we won’t be accepting on the day entries.

PLEASE BRING YOUR HELMET TO REGISTRATION. You will not be able to register without it and you’ll have to go back to your car to retrieve it.

There is a lot of parking on site and we have been able to get you all on site in the past. If, however, we do have to close the site for parking we will do this at the road. So if you see a marshal waving you away from the drive be prepared to carry on down the road. If this is the case, please find somewhere legal and safe to park up ( there is  small lane about 200mtrs past the event centre on the left, or use carparks in town)

This is in the hall, follow signs to registration. If it’s sunny we’ll have registration outside as it’s less cramped.

At the event centre there are loos inside and 4 portable Loos outside.

On course there are no loos at drink stations – Please try to go somewhere other than at drink stations, there is plenty of countryside to pop behind a bush – or call into a Pub as you pass.

I won’t know what it’s like until Friday but the area is generally sandy so drains well. There is still likely to be mud out there though!

Short route – 16miles, 620ft elevation Drink station at 12miles

Medium route – 24miles 850ft elevation Drink station at 12miles

Long route – 33miles 1120ft climbing Drink Station at 12 and 26miles

It’s not a race!

Please give way to other trail users, walkers, horse riders etc. If you come across a Horse, please let the rider know you are there in plenty of time and follow their instructions. Remember, if you spook the horse it might hurt you or other people and you are responsible for you actions and the consequences!! Please also close all gates you might come across.

The roads are in ok condition with a few pot holes so keep a look out whilst you are enjoying the countryside. Please make sure you are able to repair a few punctures as well – we will help you out if you get stuck but it may take up to an hours depending upon where the van is and what it’s doing – far faster and warmer to repair it yourself.

Long loop is closed at 12.30pm as it’s  35miles in – last start time is 9.45am

Distances are approx.

Short -35miles

Medium -57miles

Long -86miles

Drink stations are approximately at:-

Short, – 25miles

Medium – 35 and 47miles

Long – 35,63 and 75 miles

This is not a race!!

Please obey the highway code, stop at junctions and only ride two abreast where it is safe to do so – not on main roads or winding country lanes where cars travelling at speed will not be able to see you and stop!!!! If you cause and accident, you are responsible for the consequences and any costs.

You’ll receive a hard copy of the maps at registration

GPX files

Everyone who has pre-entered will receive a pre-event mail on Thursday afternoon around 6pm that has links to the GPX files and a guide to show you have to view them interactively. If you have not received this by 7pm tonight please check you junk folder, old accounts, your partners email if they booked and make sure you check the address you booked with! These are all common causes for not getting the mail. If you still don’t have them then email me on dean.stacey@evanscycles.com I’ll check your entry and send you a copy.

See you all there!
